Full-pay video poker, game by game

What the best version of each popular game looks like on the glass, what it pays back, and the short-pay versions to walk past.

Returns assume perfect play at max coins, where the royal pays 800 per coin. They match the published Wizard of Odds return tables, checked October 2026. Always read the one-coin column; it's where the differences show.

Why max coins matters

On almost every machine the royal flush pays 250 per coin at one to four coins and 800 per coin at five. Every return on this page assumes five coins.

Short-coining a 9/6 Jacks or Better machine costs more than a full percentage point. If five coins is too much, drop the denomination instead.
